What I photograph
I love photographing cars as that is one of my biggest hobbies however I don't do just that. Aside from automotive, I also love nature and landscapes. I enjoy portraits and taking pictures of my family is one of my favorite things to do as well. If you are interested in seeing some of my work you can view my pictures in my store as well as my Instagram.

How it started for me
Hello my name is Dylan Nokell and I’m a photographer based in the Pacific Northwest up here in the state of Washington. I started my journey with photography about 3 years ago when I got my first phone. My first phone ended up being one with a slide-out keyboard and only had a 2 megapixel camera. I went on a trip to Oregon and there was this huge river with a ton of white caps in it so I ended up snapping a photo and that became my wallpaper on the less than 2 inch screen of my phone.
I never really did photography much after that till I ran across this guy named Peter McKinnon on YouTube, and I knew I had to get back in. I started watching Peter McKinnon more and more, his videos are very encouraging and made me want to get off my butt and take some photos. So after that, my mom gave me her old point and shoot pocket camera so I shot with that for a while and got some good photos (the photos Stellars Jay and Squirrel were both taken from that camera). A few months later I was looking at DSLR’s and one of our family friends was willing to let me borrow her’s for a month. So I took it and practiced, practiced, practiced as much as I could. A little bit after this I went on to buy the same exact camera, a Nikon D3200.
So I did photography for a long while after purchasing my first camera and then I decided that I was going to make a website where people could see my work and have it be my own little portfolio for people to look at. I woke up one morning and made my website and I loved it, you couldn’t buy any prints like you can now but it was a spot where people could look to view my work, but that was about it. About a week went by and I thought maybe I could sell my prints so I started doing that on my site. I even ended up making my own photography Instagram account, (which now has over 250 followers thank you guys) Facebook page and a Twitter.
And several photos later, I’m here, having the most fun I’ve ever had with photography and it will only keep getting better and better. I’m so glad all this happened because photography is hands down the best thing that I’ve done and I have no plans to stop. It amazes me that people love my work enough that they will go out of their way and spend their hard earned money on one of my photos, comment on my posts or even just look at one of my photos. It’s stuff like this that fuels me and makes me keep doing what I love. Thank you everyone that is with me and has been with me through this journey that’s worth much more than a thousand words.
