What I photograph

I love photographing cars as that is one of my biggest hobbies however I don't do just that. Aside from automotive, I also love nature and portraits. If you are interested in seeing some of my work you can view my pictures here as well as my Instagram.

How it started for me

Hello my name is Dylan Nokell and I’m a photographer based in the Pacific Northwest in the state of Washington. I started my journey with photography in 2017 with an old Sony point and shoot. It was nothing special and frankly didn't even take good pictures.

I started by taking nature photos and photos of birds as best I could with the equipment I had at the time, although it was just a point and shoot, I did actually manage to get some surprisingly good photos out of it. I shot with that camera for the rest of 2017 and then early 2018 I had the opportunity to borrow a friends Nikon d3200 for a while. I used that for a few months and then ended up buying one for myself.

I started my adventure with automotive photography on January 1st of 2019 at a local new years car show. All the photos I took at that show were pretty awful but I stuck with it and kept going. I had my first proper automotive photoshoot not until October of that same year. The car was an early 90's Mazda Miata, I had a lot of fun on that shoot and that was just a sign of things to come.

Since then I've had so many more amazing experiences, from working with the LeMay Car Museum, Avants, Polished Image Detailing and many more amazing businesses and people. I've shot some amazing cars as well like a Ferrari 488 Pista, Brabus G Wagon, twin turbo Lamborghini Huracan, Mercedes SLS AMG, Lamborghini Aventador SV and many more.

And many photos later, I’m here, having the most fun I’ve ever had with photography and it will only keep getting better and better. I’m so glad all this happened because photography is hands down the best thing that I’ve done and I have no plans to stop. It amazes me that people love my work enough that they will go out of their way and spend their hard earned money on one of my photos, comment on my posts or even just look at one of my photos. It’s stuff like this that fuels me and makes me keep doing what I love. Thank you everyone that is with me and has been with me through this journey that’s worth much more than a thousand words.
